Dear Prospective Adoptive Family,
Welcome to the International Adoption website for Lutheran Children and Family Service (LCFS). We are happy that you found us and hope that you will find the information contained in this website helpful.
LCFS has been providing services to children and families in need since 1922. We have been working with families to adopt children from around the world for over 30 years. In 2000, we joined with Lutheran adoption agencies across the country to form the
Lutheran Adoption Network.
As a supervised provider, we also work with agencies outside this network to prepare and place children for international adoption. Although we are a faith-based organization, we work with families of all religious backgrounds as well as families who do not identify with any form of religion. Depending upon the specific guidelines of each country, we are able to work with couples, singles, families with children, and families that do not have any children alike.
It is our goal to provide families with the highest quality services so that they are well-prepared to adopt a child from another country. In compliance with requirements of the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect to Intercountry Adoption, we provide 10-12 hours of training in addition to the home study visits. We have broken down the process into steps that meet requirements at every level of the adoption process.

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with you as you build your family through international adoption! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Kelli Myers-Gottmoller, MSW, LSW

All LAN members have a shared reputation for integrity and ethical practices in adoption, as well as extensive history. Many of our agencies have been in business for over 100 years. As a faith-based network, we are motivated to serve by finding families for children who wait. A commitment to honesty and professionalism is our hallmark.Together, LAN member agencies place over 1,000 children annually into adoptive homes. These Lutheran organizations are working together to bring children and families together.
