Community Based Services
Family Preservation is an intensive, culturally-sensitive, home-based program for children and youth returning home from placement. The goal of this program is to reintegrate children back into their families and communities by supporting their parents’ progress. In Home Protective Services (IHPS) focuses on enhancing the safety of children who are in need of protection from sexual abuse and provides therapeutic intervention to support the victim and/or caretakers. For more information, please contact Mary McCann, Program Manager at 215-747-7500 ext. 228.
Parenting Education and Empowerment Resource Program (PEER) helps parents enhance their parenting skills and find mutual support. The goal of the program is to improve parenting, as well as coping and management skills, in order to prevent child abuse and neglect. Truancy Prevention partners with the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and the School District of Philadelphia to increase school attendance, improve communication between families and schools, and support families by helping them to recognize their own strengths.
