Let your clients and staff know about their housing rights!

U.S. Law prohibits landlords, realtors, and mortgage companies  from discriminating based on any of the following:

  • race
  • religion
  • national origin
  • gender
  • disability
  • having children
Unfortunately, housing discrimination is still common, and with some populations the problem appears to be on the rise.

LCFS Fair Housing Trainings at your location

The adult education program at LCFS, in collaboration with the Fair Housing Council of Suburban Philadelphia, is working to promote greater understanding of housing discrimination law in Southeast Pennsylvania.

We can provide a free one-hour training for staff at your agency, so they can be informed when relating to clients about their housing needs.

In addition, we can provide free trainings, ranging in length from 1 - 2.5 hours, in community ESL, GED, ABE classes at your locations.

These trainings allow participants to recognize housing discrimination, and, in cases where their legal rights are being violated, to learn about free legal help.

In addition, the training can be designed to briefly discuss any of the following:

  • finding housing
  • reading and understanding a lease
  • legal rights of people being evicted
  • protecting one's security deposit
  • dealing with unsafe rental housing conditions
